Hi,

i've been trying to read all the stuff that's been written abt problems with
syncing pocket pc with xp desktops.  i have this problem & despite trying
lots of different things still haven't resolved.

I have a compaq ipaq 3630 handheld which for the past 3 years i've been
syncing with a windows 2000 desktop using activesync 3.1.  i never had
probs.

in the past few weeks i have bought a new desktop PC which has xp & service
pack 2 loaded.  I've downloaded active sync 3.7, switched off virus scan,
checked activesync box in firewall security centre & still get an error
message at wizard istallation stage.

wizard actually causes the handheld to power on but does not sync & gives
'failed to connect' message.

anyone have any other suggestions pse.........

many thx.

Are you using USB or serial to sync?

I'm having the same problem... connecting via USB.  I
didn't have any problems connecting before Service Pack 2
on my notebook, but now that I try it on my new Dell with
SP2 it doesn't work!  I also get an error saying that
Windows couldn't find the driver for "Samsung CDMA".

Try reinstalling ActiveSync, and also check to see if the device is
showing up in Device Manager (System, Devices tab, Device Manager
button).
