I did a rom update on my XDA 2 and a complete reinstall of all software
afterwards. After the sync with Activesync and Outlook 2003 afterwards, all
the mails from a complete months were gone from my .pst file in Outlook! I
installed the backup from my SD-Card on my XDA with all the mails but syncing
with Outlook now deletes the mails from my XDA as well :-( Since I still have
all those mails at least on my SD-Card ready to restore on my XDA, I like to
ask if there is a posibility to get those mails down from the XDA and back
into my .pst file maybe on antoher way ? Why is Activesync deleting the mails
from my PDA ?

Thanks,

Richard

1. ActiveSync should not be deleting mail - did you restore any data
after the ROM update? Did you create a new partnership?
2. There is no way to get the data back into Outlook. However,
anything deleted should be in your Trash folder in Outlook.

Hi Rob,

yes after the rom upgrade, I installed some new applications before I have
noticed that mails from the last month are missing...I also tried both, using
the old partnership and creating a new partnership. I always restore my old
x-backup image from my SD-Card to get the mails back on the XDA but after
each sync they are gone and not in the trash folder as well...
Is there a possibility to use the STGViewer or another program to access the
XDA files with my mails ? Could I install ActiveSync on another computer with
XP and a fresh Outlook to get all the data into that Outlook file ? I would
have to create a new partnership and I am not sure if existing mails from the
XDA are taken over to that new instance....?

Thanks,

Richard

There's really nothing you can do, short of sending each message back
to yourself. Inbox sends data one way upon intial sync - there is no
"combine", as the Inbox sync is with one computer only and therefore
it overwrites anything there upon initial sync.
