Pop up message

All the sudden out of the blue I am getting this pop up that says it can sync
my iPaq because it doesn't recognize it.  I get it when I boot my computer or
right after I disconnect my iPaq.  Outside of that message everything seems
to work fine.  I just have to cancel it all the time.

Anyone seen this or know what causes it?

Hi,

Did you try recreating the partnership?  To delete and recreate a
partnership --

1.  Disconnect the PPC from the computer.
2.  In Activesync -> File -> Delete Partnership.
3.  Connect the device and follow the onscreen
instructions to setup a new partnership.

What kind of connection are you using to sync your device?

I tried that and it didn't do anything.  I then, a few days later, had a
hicup that caused the handheld not to sync at all.  I did a hardreset on it
and tried to sync.  It wouldn't.  I then wiped my laptop and reloaded.  They
are syncing again and the message didn't appear at first but somewhere in the
patching it started to appear again.  So I am back where I started.

Hi,

What's the mode of connection you use to sync your PPC?

I sync via USB and the cradle if that is what you mean.

Ok, then make sure you have not checked the "Allow serial cable.." option
under File -> Connection Settings.  Looks like ActiveSync is unable to
access the selected COM port.  If it is not checked, could you select it and
select another COM port.  Check if it helps solve the problem.

Keep in mind that right now, it is syncing and all seems fine.  My only issue
is that I get this pop-up on bootup and when I disconnect saying that it
doesn't recognize my device.  The complete non-sync issue went away after
re-formatting my laptop.

I just did and it seems to have stopped it.  My instructions for my device
specificly say that box needs to be checked.  Did something change?
