I sync via USB and the cradle if that is what you mean.
Ok, then make sure you have not checked the "Allow serial cable.." option
under File -> Connection Settings. Looks like ActiveSync is unable to
access the selected COM port. If it is not checked, could you select it and
select another COM port. Check if it helps solve the problem.

Keep in mind that right now, it is syncing and all seems fine. My only issue
is that I get this pop-up on bootup and when I disconnect saying that it
doesn't recognize my device. The complete non-sync issue went away after
re-formatting my laptop.

I just did and it seems to have stopped it. My instructions for my device
specificly say that box needs to be checked. Did something change?
