It sounds as though ActiveSync is confused on what to sync, as the
Inbox has changed. Try deleting the partnership (File -> Delete
Partnership) in ActiveSync, and then re-cradle the device and
re-establish the partnership. Note that the partnership contains
ActiveSync backups and replication data only - if you sync files, just
say "No" when it asks you if you want to delete the synchronized files
directory.
