Hi Michael,
The list should have updated since ActiveSync supports COM 1 to COM 9. Try
uninstalling COM9 and check if it updates the list. You can refer to

I removed COM 9 but all that this has yielded was that the list of
COM-ports in ActiveSync now reads:

COM3
Infrared Port (IR)

Beats me, why the BT ports don't show up here...

Hi,
The com ports will only appear if they are loaded BEFORE ActiveSync loads.
Try ending ActiveSync and then restarting it. This requires you to kill the
tasks labeled WCESCOMM.EXE and WCESMGR.EXE. Then you can click on the icon
to load ActiveSync.

Hi Chris,
alas, killing and restarting ActiveSync didn't help.
As you can read in the parallel thread, it reacted to other changes I
did to the COM port settings (I removed COM9), but that didn't make
COM5/COM6 appear in this list...
