Explain activesync 4.0 feature to me?

I'm puzzled. Exactly why is it better not to allow users to schedule their
sync sessions with the PC, as is the case with v4.0, rather than was the
case with 3.8.

I'd really would welcome understanding why this feature has been added (or
taken away depending on your point of view) to 4.0

Hi,
Microsoft did not disclose why they removed this feature.  All I can suggest
is to e-mail mswish@microsoft.com and request it again if you want it.

It IS available for Active Sync to an Exchange Server but I agree not to a
Desktop sync.
