I have Activesync 3.8 supporting my HP iPAQ POCKET PC running Windows Mobile
2003 Second Edition.
I just got a Cingular 2125 Smartphone running Windows Mobile 2005
SMARTPHONE. including Activesync 4.1
When I tried to install Activesync 4.1 it insisted in overwriting my version
3.8.

Several questions since I thought Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition was NOT
supported by Activesync 4.1.

Can both a Pocket PC and Smartphone run off the same Activesync?
Can I run both OSs (v2003SE and v2005) from one Activesync?
If so, which version do I use?
If not, how do I install both verisons of Activesync on one hard drive?

Thank you.

WM2003SE is supported by ActiveSync 4.1 - it basically uses the engine
from ActiveSync 3.8 for devices running WM2003SE or earlier, and the
new engine for WM5 devices.

>Can both a Pocket PC and Smartphone run off the same Activesync?

Yes.

Yes.

>If so, which version do I use?

You must use ActiveSync 4.0 or later to synchronize with any Windows
Mobile 5 device.
