A friend of mine is setting up as a freelance driving instructor after
being with a big company for a while.

As part of his setup, he will want to have an individual document on a
Windows mobile device for each student where he can check off
milestones/manouvers etc. that they have achived and mastered.

He'd then like this updated information syncronised to his PC via
Activesync.

Is this possible?

If so, what would be the best application, (Word mobile, Excel mobile,
something else!?!), to do this?

Thanks for any and all feedback. He's asked me as he knows I dabble
with computers but, unfortunately, I know next to nothing about windows
mobile!

Cheers,

Sam.

Hi Sam,

Here is a suggestion:

Your friend can create a template on his device since the document will be
same across for all students.  Depending on the data he wants to store and
the manner he wants to store, he could use either Word Mobile or Excel
Mobile (both of them allow creation of templates).  From what you have
described, I think Excel will be a better choice since it will help organize
the data a lot better.

He will need to setup a partnership with the computer and enable file sync
so that the files are sync'd to the PC upon connection.  Note that the
documents saved on the device will need to be under "My Documents" folder.
Only files and folder under this folder is sync'd with the computer.

Important point that needs to be considered is a file naming convention.  So
that he has unique files.

Thanks Raj,

That great info. I guessed this was possible but just wasnt certain.

If I have any more questions, I'll post back up here.

Best regards,

Sam.
