Hi.  I tried checking through other people's posts but I could not find
the answer.  Basically my Viewsonic Pocket PC lost battery life and I
am trying to synch it back with my old Pocket_PC profile somehow.  I
remember asking this quesiton before on MSN's forums and someone told
me how to do it.  I can't remember though!  I thought I had to delete
two profiles or something in order to free up the Pocket_PC name for my
profile so my pocket pc could synch with my computer.  I know I have
done it in the past and it did not require just creating a new profile
and transferring all the files over.  Anyone have any advice?  Thanks!

You cannot restore a profile - since the partnership was lost. You
must delete the old profile. The only time you can use an old profile
is if you did a restore to the device that used that profile.

The profile stores replication data for the most part (it also stores
ActiveSync device backups in versions prior to 4.0), so when the
device loses power it must not try and use that old replication data -
doing so would mean everything would be deleted from Outlook, as it
would see everything was deleted on the device.
