You lost me. It's flash. You can't use it like RAM ever. You can install
applications there, like you would with an extra hard disk on your PC. When
you try to install a new application, you should be prompted, on the device,
whether to install it to the device or to the storage card, if there's a
storage card installed.

What he means is, can it be the default place for applications to save
their data files, and for said files to be synched from?
And the answer is no.
I have an interesting issue on WM5, on a Dell Axim 51v, that would have
the same subject line. Sometimes Word won't save a file, claiming that
it can't get hold of the memory it needs to do the same. The files
aren't real big - 20-30KB.
It seems to be a memory fragmentation issue. I find I can keep it from
happening thus:
1. Reset the machine.
2. Start Switcher Bar, and use it to kill the default instance of
Active Sync.
3. Start Work, so that it's really the only app running.
4. After each synch, use Switcher Bar to kill Active Sync again.

I don't know of any way to make it the default, no. You should be able to
save files to \Storage Card\ from, say, Word with no problem. I don't do
that daily, but haven't seen any problems with it, as long as the card is
actually installed.
