Hi,
Did you configure the Bluetooth adapter on the PC so that the virtual com
port is between Com1 and Com9?   Did you select the com port in ActiveSync?

Hi Chris,

I have tried to set this up as well, and I don't see any answers anywhere,
please correct me if I've missed this somewhere.

I have an 8125 and WinXP on my laptop. Belkin bluetooth dongle. I've tried
both the MS BT stack as well as the stuff that the Belkin software installs.
Lots of uninstalls and reinstalls of drivers and activesync.

No matter what I try, the Activesync "service" does not appear when I pair
to my laptop via my 8125. I always see "Serial Port". I have tried defining
multiple COM ports, selecting each one in the Connection Settings of
ActiveSync, and I never ever see ActiveSync, only Serial Port.

Any advice on what to try next? What does it take to get that ActiveSync
"service" to appear over bluetooth?

This seems a common problem as I've googled the heck out of this issue...

Thanks for any help.

I'm using Win XP and need to manually start the ActiveSync IDE before I can ensure that the PPC "sees" the ActiveSync as a "service".

Chris,
I am having the same problems as Chuck, with his 8125.

I have a Kensington Bluetooth USB Adapter and WinXP Pro sp2 on Laptop.

The devices have already been paired. The device works fine using USB cable
and Activesync.

I go to Bluetooth on laptop and setup a new Client services Com Port for
COM6. I right click on the device and connect the device. It tells me that
device connected to Com6. I then go to ActiveSync and set the port to Com6.
The service shows me that I am connected to the serial port to the 8125.When
I try and connect thru ActiveSync, it scans thru all ports but does not
connect. When I try to initiate Sync thru 8125 nothing happens. If I try and
connect via BlueTooth, it responds with "Cannot find an existing BlueTooth
Partnership with a PC that supports ActiveSync. Would you like to set up a
partnership now?" When you select yes, it shows the partnership already. If
you select new partnership, the partnership shows up and then you can select
the services for the serial port on the device. When you go to the COM Ports
on the 8125, It shows the 8125 port Com7, Incoming Port Com6. When you then
try to Sync, nothing happens.

I have spent endless hours.  I have had my 8125 now for a week and selling it
I'm so frustrated.
