Hi,
First of all apologies if I'm not providing enough information about
the problem, but there isn't really much to go on (hence I am
stumped).
I have a new laptop (Lenovo 3000 N100), and a Dopod 818Pro.
I haven't been able to sync the Dopod with the MS Outlook 2003 on the
laptop.
When I connect them, sometimes they fail to connect. Other times they
will connect, get to "Looking for changes", then the
synchronization fails.
I am just getting standard error messages, with no error codes. I have
done the Troubleshooter scan but it didn't find any "Known
issues"
Any suggestions of what to try would be greatly appreciated!
Other notes:
I have upgraded to ActiveSync 4.2 already - no changes.
The Dopod was able to synchronize with a different laptop, but not with
this laptop. This leads me to believe that it is an issue with the
laptop.
I have been able to instal software onto the Dopod, which leads me to
believe that it is something with Outlook.
When connected, I see a new "Local Area Connection 9" with Device
Name: "Windows Mobile-based Device #8".
Have Norton Installed. I tried disabling it, but That didn't change
anything.
When connected, I can navigate the files on the device, I just can't
"Sync" it.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Did you install ActiveSync after Outlook? Is there a software firewall,
antispyware apps that could be causing a problem?

Yes, I installed active synce after outlook. Is this correct?
I have turned all the antivirus software and firewall off (I believe)
I've run out of ideas. when I get the chance, I'm going to totally
reformat my PC and start again - I hope that fixes things!
Cheers

Which firewall/antivirus are you using? Some firewalls don't really get out
of the way when you "disable" them; they block everything.
