I am unable to play the streaming audio from www.mobile.musicdock.com.  I
have tried the stream on other equipment and it works fine, just with my iPaq
it has trouble.  It downloads the stream, but my iPaq shows 'Windows Media
player unable to play this file'.  Any help is appreciated.

There's no site at http://www.mobile.musicdock.com, I assume you were
looking at http://mobile.musicdock.com.  Unfortunately it's a
login-only site, so we can't test it for you.

Since it should be designed for mobiles, not working on PPC is a
serious mistake on their part :-p

Usually, the workaround is to find out the streaming URL, and append
some random filename to it - for example, if the URL to the content
was
http://mobile.musicdock.com/stream/track1

Change it by copy+paste to
http://mobile.musicdock.com/stream/track1/file.wmv

That can 'trick' the player into thinking that a stream is in fact a
file, and it often works too. It's usually the workaround for playback
from windows media encoder on newer WM5 devices though.

Yes, I have hijacked the stream site, but it reauthenticates every two hours,
for every channel.  With over 120 channels, it is really not worth copy and
pasting the stream.  If I take the URL of the stream, and open it up with WMP
9 mobile, it opens and plays it fine.  Somehow the handoff between PIE and
WMP 9 Mobile is somehow getting interupted.  Thank you for your help.

PS - If you go to xmradio.com and sign up for a free 3 day trial, you can
get a username and password.  Just a name and email is all you need for the
trial.

Sorry, I don't know - it seems like they're just making it far too
hard for people to use their content, no idea why. It sounds like a
misconfiguration of their servers, but only they can really address
that. Have you tried an email to their site support address yet ?

I have WMP 10 on the treo 700wx and am trying to get into my schools
streaming. Usually (on desktop WMP) it requests a username and password. When
I try opening on the Treo is give an "access denied". Does anyone know if
there is a way around this?
