If I play a large mp3 file on my ppc and hit pause, when
I come back to resume playing it will not let me
continue.  Also, if I want to use a file that is long,
say an hour of audio, and I want to skip ahead to say the
20 min mark, the player says "playing" but it does not
play?

Any ideas??  Thanks

WMP for PPC is brain-damaged when it comes to MP3's.

Get a different player:

Pocket MVP
or
Pocket Music.

There's others as well, you can Google for all of them.
