Hey folks,
Does anyone know a "one stop" program to copy a DVD (just the movie) to an
PPC? Or is there a simple process?
I'm currently using ShrinkDVD3.1 to back the movies up to my hard drive (as
VOB files) I can convert those files with Windows Media Encoder but it is
PAINFULLY slow and the file size are often still to large. I have a 256 CF
card and a 128mb SD card.

Any tips would be appericated!

Thanks!
Nick

Nick,

Look at the message thread I started a couple of days ago.  There is a
program called "DVD to Pocket PC" on Handango that will do EXACTLY what
you're hoping to do.  It even has two primary settings one to optimize a
typical DVD to a 128mb card and another setting to a 256mb card.

so, go to www.handango.com and search for the program name above.  you might
want to put the name in quotes to get an exact match or you'll be looking at
a long list of software.

The demo does a very impressive 5 minute clip.

I think any way you cook it, to achieve a decent result is still a lengthy
process and with most of mine that I have done, the file sizes range from
160mb (1 1/2 hrs) to 230mb (3 hrs) and it's a 5 part process that pretty
much ties your computer up while it's going.

search Handango for "DVD to PocketPC"

just a couple of clicks and it will fit most full length movies onto a 128mb
card

Tricky.

If you have a wireless LAN, perhaps you could stream it to the iPAQ from
your desktop using Windows Media Encoder.
