I de-installed the Mediaplayer, now I can't re-install it
anymore. Tried everything (I believe).
Player 8 on the HP CD - installation OK but doesn't run -
> "player not found or wrong path or library ..." whatever.

Player 7 - your device is not supported.

What the h... can I do.

Help is really appreciated!!

TIA

Back up your data from your PPC and hard reset.

It's the easiest thing to do - many orders of magnitude
simpler then farting around with WMP trying to "repair" it.

Re-installing your apps & stuff will take some time, though...

Bin there, done it.

Actually I did it twice (cost me half a day to have all my
apps running again). WMP has disappeared as funny as it
sounds.

Wow, that's weird...

Hard reset AGAIN, and try WMP before installing ANYTHING.

Perhaps one of the apps you're installing is screwing it over-

Wilco,

but that will have to wait till the weekend, don't have
the time during the week.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the help!

Has anybody experienced massive virusattacks (infected
mail from alledeged Microsoft addresses) after posting
with the real email address in this forum?

I get 5 - 7 daily since I did. Strange >:o[

more like 50-70 / day here...it's the SWEN virus.

I set up some filters in Outlook to delete the damn
things directly from my mail server.

Massively annoying, though.
