Avi files taken from Canon A70 which are video data=
FOURCC and code=MJPG can be played on a desktop PC (WinXP)
using Windows Media Player v.9.
But these same files would not work on an IPAQ 2210
(Windows Mobile 2003)using Windows Media Player v9.
Have tried both copy-to-device via the Windows Media
player and also copy/paste via file explorer.
Has anyone been successful in playing AVI files from
Digital Cameras using their Pocket PC?

Not sure about this but you might need to look on the MS web site for info
about encoding media for the PPC. Probably using Windows Media Encoder with
a Pocket PC profile loaded to convert it?

Thanks for the info, the file is now .WMV and it works on
my PPC.
And I also found a s/w Pocket Quick View 3.0 which plays
the AVI files from Canon A70 Dig Camera without file
convertion or manipulation. So far, this is the only one
that works as I've tried PocketDivX, PocketMVP, PocketTV,
Pocket Quick View 2.0 & Win Media Player 9 but all came
up with an error. Most of them needed to encode the AVI
file for PPC viewing.
