I am a student who wants to use his Pocket PC to record some lectures,
seminars etc. Mobile Pro P300 has only GSM codec apart from the
standard PCM. I would like to experiment with other formats. From the
past posts, I gather that one cannot add additional codecs. Is there
any other FREE software that you guys can recommend for me to record
in other formats? I only came across professinal tools that cost
money. I am looking for something simple and free.

Not FREE but not expensive...

Check out Resco's Audio Recorder at www.resco-net.com

I'm a professor and often use this to record my own lectures then offer the
files to my students.
