I just got a new 6315 and it locks up quite often. Have to do a soft reset
several times a day. I have quite a lot of software loaded but I don't
expect that to make any difference.
Anyone else experiencing this?

I owned one from t-mobile for about 2weeks and I returned it. I loved
it as a palmtop, however the phone quality was awful. Since then they
have stopped selling it due to numerous complaints. It is no longer on
their web site.
On mine I noticed it was VERY slow, especially when I turned it off. It
could take up to 1 minute to shut down. I would consider the
possibility that you have a software issue, some applications may be
interfering with each other. Another thing to remember is when you exit
an application it stays running. You can go to the task switcher in
Settings/System/Memory/Running Programs and selectivly shut them down.
I would use a process of elimination until you find the application
that is causing the lockups. Also there are utilities that will
actually close an application when you hit the x. That might help.

This is pretty common with the 6315. HP has released an upgrade for non-US
versions (6365 and 6340) back in February. HP and TMobile are in a
corporate urination contest to blame each other and not service the
customer. One or the other will be releasing an upgrade in April that fixes
most of the problems.

Removing software helped a lot. But I added more on since I need to use them
- like launcher. I'll see which ones mess it up. Seems to be the Today
plug-ins that do the damage.
It's a shame about the quality of the device. I bought this to replace my
Toshiba e750 (very nice machine) and Sidekick II (excellent, I didn't like
having two devices. I expected something from HP to be top quality and am
disappointed. I also get people telling me that there is an echo and the
loudspeaker squeals when I turn it on. Tmobile are sending me a replacement
in 15 days (from last Thursday. I guess that is when they are expecting a new
release.
Hopefully this will all work out because it is a nice device.

The last official thing I read was that HP would have an update "the first
week of April". I am very much looking forward to an improved system.

Ok, we get it, you don't like T-Mobile. Apparently you have resolved your
complaint. Now please go away.
