Anybody have this new HP hw6515 phone w/built-in GPS receiver?
Does the GPS work well?
I guess you can download MS Streets ver. 6 for free; does MS Streets provide
good speaking instructions?
Why didn't they provide this device with Mobile 2005 instead of 2003?

I use the hw6515 with Mapopolis 4.6 maps, navigation and voice prompts,
which work quite well and are tailored for the 6515's square display.

The GPS Quick Connect utility means a 3-D fix is usually gained seconds
after startup.  Nav is flawless and quick to resolve missed turns and
new routes.

I dumped the OEM Tom Tom in part due to what I found to be hopelessly
inadequate support.  In addition, cost of full map sets was far higher
than Mapopolis.

Do they make a car mount?

I use the Brodit/Pro-Clip unit with "move clips" that allow me to
relocate the unit from cr to car.  Works great.  Very stable.

Hi RWM:

Which Mapopolis product, SmartPhone or Pocket PC?  How big are all the
America maps, i.e. will fit on 1GB SD Mem. card?

On another note, when I press the Del key, it types a 'v' instead of
deleting.  Any ideas?

Thank you!

4.6 for Pocket PC (handles the 240x240 screen).

From memory, the entire 'Platinum" (nav, voice) North American map set
is 1.7GB.

No idea on the "v" issue.  Not what you want to hear, but it sounds like
a kb connector or mapping issue.  Is there perhaps some sort of custom
kb key function software installed?

MS Streets & Trips has no routing or spoken instructions. The hw6515 is a
good unit, some apps don't like the 240x240 screen layout however.

Mapopolis 4.6 is specifically tailored for the 240x240 aspect screen.

I use the hw6515 and can concurrently phone, operate Mapopolis GPS nav
and operate a SDIO WLAN card without issue.  I have heard of concurrent
phone/GPRS data issues.

Your issue sounds more like memory contention/limitation than processor.
