Guru's.

Is it possible to maintain my wireless internet connection and still be
connected via USB to my laptop for power?

I use a chat package on my phone, (XV6600, Verizon, WM2003) to support
multiple clients while onsite for specific jobs.
Whenever I sync to my PC, I lose my phone internet connection and am
switched to the local LAN internet connection on my PC.  Not a big deal
except that some (and more every day) businesses block the chat port.

Unfortunately, this is not possible.
