Is it possible to switch from single- to doubleclick when launching
applications from the today screen? Everytime I make a phonecall my ear
triggers all sorts of applications, especially when I squeeze the device
between ear an shoulder to keep my hands free.

TIA

Assuming you have the unit set to not power up on screen taps, as soon
as you answer or place a call, press the power button to "turn the unit
off"

The ppc side will go to sleep but the phone will continue to work...
pressing either of the phone buttons will "wake" the unit up if you need
it but the screen and other buttons will not respond to presses.

Thanks for the hint, takes some training but I'll get used to it; so i guess
double clicking will not be available in windows mobile?

tapping is the general equivalent of double clicking but think you want
to make it harder to activate screen actions... imho, in the long term,
that would not be desirable.  In addition there are a huge number of
screens that could be up during a call.

fwiw, tap/hold is the equivalent of right-clicking

Thanks for your reply!

Would it then be possible to modify the "today" screen (registry key?) so
that no touchscreen inputs are accepted, only hardway key inputs? This would
solve my problem and also some other isses like lauching programs while mp3
playback when you carry the device in your pocket. This however should only
affect the today screen, the touchscreen should funktion normally in all
other applications. For me the touchscreen funktionality on the today screen
is not so important because there are enough hotkeys to launch everything i
want, plus the navigation keys with which i could browse through the menus.

TIA

Not afaik.

You can "approach" this goal by simply creating a blank html page and
running that... doing so would effectively turn off any screen response
except the bottom row and top right... the Today settings can be changed
to keep the today screen from coming up after a delay.

You can also write or commission a simple app which would do the same
and stay in place until a specific hardware key is pressed.
