IE as shipped with a ppc-6700 includes the encryption to access financial
web sites such as banking, etc.  I have used it in many places without a
problem, as others I know have as well.

Is it possible that the sites you mention are running non-compatible page
features (script, etc. ) that is causing the page problems, NOT the
encryption being the problem? If so, check to see if they have a
mobile-friendly interface to use instead of the main one.
