Hi everybody. I seem to be having a problem with my incoming text messages.
I use a Cingular 8525 Pocket PC Phone, and whenever I recieve a text
message, for some reason the time I recieved them is an hour ahead of the
time the message was actually sent. If someone sends me a message at 9:30, I
will recieve the message on time, but it will display as being recieved at
10:30. I have tried factory restoring, and the timing problem is not because
of the people who are sending me messages. It just started to happen for
some reason. Any ideas?

Hi,

I believe it will show the time of your device at which the message was
received, not the sender's time.

Regards,

TMandou

Is your phone number in a different time zone than you are physically?
Your mobile operator might be adjusting the timestamp to the "phone's"
time.  My voicemails are always stamped one hour ahead- I live in Denver,
but with a Kansas City phone number.

No... I just changed phones, and I never had this problem previously.... It
just started happening recently. I live in Las Vegas, and most my contacts
are from here. Whenever I get a message from them, it is labeled incorrectly
as being an hour ahead of when it was actually sent. And this only applies
for my received messages. My messages which I send are displayed at the
correct time.

I remember doing a little test, and if I remember correctly, the time that
is displayed on messages is either;

+ server based
+ the time set on the other person's phone

test it out :) I would have, but I haven't been bothered enough to try it
out. I, however, believe that it is the latter (other person's phone).

It probably is a server problem (I guess?)... My contacts' phones are set to
the correct time....
