Anyone seen this one or have suggestions on how to fix? Maybe a bug?

Title:  Text Messages Inbox reports 0 Items, 1 Unread
Environment:  HTC Sprint Mogul <Windows Mobile 6 Professional, CE OS
5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)>
[Repro]
1.  Start > Messaging > Text Messaging > Inbox
2.  Menu > Tools > Clear “Text Messages”, Confirm deletion
3.  View Status Line on bottom of screen which reports “Text Messages 0
Items, 1 Unread”
[Results]
Status bar incorrectly reports the number of Unread messages. This incorrect
Unread count is also incorrectly reported at other levels within Window
Mobile where Unread message stats are reported.
[Expect]
Status bar should report “Text Messages 0 Items, 0 Unread”
[Notes]
Up until today, Unread messages were correctly reported. Earlier today the
HTC Mogul became unresponsive and required a soft reboot. After the reboot, I
noticed the Unread message count was incorrectly being reported. Anyway to
clear the incorrect counter?

Have you tried pulling down the folders (upper left) and seeing if any
other folder has any unread messages?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have looked at Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox,
Outbox, and Sent Items. All folders are empty. In the folder view, the inbox
shows "Inbox (1)", which is consistent with the status line in the Inbox view
showing "Text Messages 0 Items, 1 Unread".

and, I assume you have soft reset the device?  (I'm now out of ideas
short of a hard reset)

Yes, soft reset a couple of times. I'm going to try a hard reset tomorrow
unless you might know which registry key stores the Unread message counter.

Text messaging is a special case... had a problem with it where it
turned out that a hard reset was necessary.

However, would recommend against an immediate hard reset if you can live
with it for a few days as someone else might have the answer... while it
might be a registry value, it could be something completely different
such as a file (or memory copy) which didn't get deleted and is being
counted.

OK. I'll wait until next week on the hard reset. Thanks for your help!

did you figure out how to clear the 0 text, 1 unread from your phone without
having to hard reset?  Because my phone is doing the same thing and I dont
want to hard reset it.  Any info would help. Thanks.
