ActiveSync issue

My HP iPaq 6515 PocketPC Phone has developed a nasty habit of freezing
upon removal from the charger or sync cable, when ActiveSync is running.

(Note:  not actively updating, just "connected".)

The iPaq is 2 years old, program load has been stable for over a year.
i.e nothing new.  Everything works.  This "freeze on ActiveSync
disconnect" feature is a recent phenomenon.

Anyone seen this, or have an idea what might be causing the behavior?

If Activesync on the iPaq is "closed" (iPaq taskbar icon tapped; icon
disappears), the freeze does not occur.  So this is the workaround.

You've discovered the same workaround that we've been using. Not sure exactly
when this started to occur, but we have this condition not only on our iPaqs,
but also with our Palm Treos and HTC devices.

We have reported this issue to the Windows Mobile team. Hopefully a future
version of desktop ActiveSync will have this corrected.
