Voice Command announce error

Hi Sven

I hope that you can offer some guidance for me.

I have Voice Command installed on my HTC Touch and have all functions working.
The issue I am having is when using the built in speaker on the device. What
is happening is that the audio section of the device seems to be going to
"sleep" and the software is not starting the audio device before attempting
to speak.
I can most clearly see this with a simple press of the Voice Command button.
If the device audio section is "sleeping" I do not hear the beep tone at the
start of listening. If I press the command button a second time, the audio
device has woken up and I hear the announce just fine. The same happens but
is more serious when announcing new messages. When the audio device is
active, the announce works flawlessly. When the audio device is sleeping, the
enabling of voice announce will also cause the default ring for incoming
messages to not work.

Do you have any suggestions?
(I'm fine with editing the registry, etc.)

Thank you

Regards,

Derek Jacobs

More information if it is helpful.
I can confirm that Voice Command announce works fine if something else like
the media player is using the audio amp. This pretty much confirms for me
that the issue is the audio amp not turning on before the Voice Command tries
to speak.

My Tilt may do similar stuff. Haven't really paid that much attention. I do
get announcements, but I am pretty sure that some aren't happening. I just
figured I wasn't paying attention. You are talking about stuff like, 'You
have a new e-mail' or 'You have a call from Bill Gates', right. Not sure
what do do about it not happening right, when the phone is in suspend.
