I do not have a Smartphone yet but am leaning towards the i700 with Verizon.
The only real negative I see is... I want to be able to attach the
Smartphone to my laptop thereby providing wireless Internet access to my
laptop via the Smartphone.

Unfortunately Verizon tech support says they don't support this and Samsung
says a data kit was available from Verizon at one time but is no longer
marketed.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The modem drivers are out there... sorry, but I don't remember the
url... was an independant firm.

Google Group search this newsgroup for i700 MODEM and you should find
the link.
