AXIM 5 WIFI SNIFFER?

Hello, i have an Axim 5 400mhz and a wireless truemobile 2.4ghz 802.11b card   it was a gift,, how can i go look for wireless net works? around town? i was told to get a wifi sniffer?? and what kind do i need?? any help would be appreciated.. TY!!!!!

Have a look in the configuration for your WiFi card. There could be a tab
marked something like 'Site Scan'. That would be a basic sniffer.

A more comprehensive one, which can configure your card to auto-connect to
networks you regularly visit, is PocketWiNC from http://www.cirond.com.

Free sniffers include PocketWarrior, Netstumbler, and Boingo Boingo. Be
aware that not all sniffers work with all WiFi cards, though.

remove the Dell drivers & install the drivers for Orinoco, the run
netstumbler (ministumbler)

...work like a dream
