I failed to get AS 3.7.1 to work with Linksys BT (USBBT100) or Belkin (USB
BT adaptor) on an IPAQ 1945 so am going to try now on a 4155. I thought
about trying to use 802.11b on my home network but the guides seem to say
that I have to make changes to my network connection (like dynamic to static
ip) that I do not want to do.
I saw a message somewhere in this NG where AG was working on a 4155 using
BT. Are these settings available anywhere?
On the 1945 I followed advice from several groups: pairing and unpairing,
authenication, passkey, soft and hard boots, et al. I have tried, among
others, the guide at http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=1423 Of
course also the one by MS at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=/support/pocketpc/tshoot/activesy
nc/default.asp

and the HP one at

My pc is a Dimension 8300 with Xp Home Sp1. It is wired to my (Linksys)
router and my Inspiron 8200 uses a PCMCIA G by Linksys.

Things you have to check when doing ActiveSync over Bluetooth:

- be 100% sure that the COM port defined on the computer's ActiveSync
configuration is the same as the Service or InBound COM port defined in this
computer's Bluetooth setup.
- if running a firewall, try without it
- if the USB adapter is connected to a USB HUB move it to a USB port
connected directly to your computer.

Thanks. I do have everything going on my laptop and will try my desktop next
week after a weekend trip.
