Good morning,
I have a great problem  to solve for the good success of my application.
I'm developing an ASP.NET application (not a mobile ASP application) with
visual stdudio 2003, to use with Pocket PC 2003. This application use the
ADO.NET technology to get the maximum performance width data management and
the WEB interface to maximize the graphical interface.
The application is called using a wireless connection from the Pocket PC and
the Server IIS
We have created a custom keyboard to optimize the use of our application.
The problem is that, at any time the cursor go to a text box, in the aspx
page, the SIP automatically fire. This cause the repositioning of the page
and the difficulty to read easily the screen.
Is there a manner to disable the SIP in manner to run a normal ASP.NET
application from the Pocket PC that dont use it ?
Sorry for my poor english.
Thanks for the attention.

Sounds like you're asking if there's a way to prevent the SIP from coming up
when you select an edit field in Pocket Internet Explorer.
Do you have any device-side code, or is this a purely server-side ASP.NET
application?

I don't think there's a way to tell PocketIE through HTML not to show the
SIP. If you're running device-side code, there probably is a way. I remember
hearing something similar, but not sure how it's done.

My application is purely server-side ASP.NET
In this way I'm enable to mantain the application independent from the
device.
I had developed this application using Terminal Services, but it's too
expensive in licensing of operating system, TS clients and CITRIX clients.
My application uses a personalized input panel for every textbox to fill.
If the SIP is enabled, when it appear, the entire page is moved and this
cause to the user the re-orientatetion of the application form.
Isn't there a script or an executable programs to disable this function ?
We have found that, write a server application for the mobiles devices, is a
good solution: this permit to not have costs of maintenance of application
on the device, neither costs of installation, easy and quickly developement:
and no data connection problems.
I would use the wireless pocket PC on all my application with this tecnique:
stock picking, stock monitoring, collection orders etc.
Thanks
marco

There's no way to prevent the SIP from coming up using just server-side code
/ client-side scripts in pIE.
