I've tried to use my iPAQ 5555 to check my comcast e-mail through the web
browser and I get redirected to the following web page:

http://www.comcast.net/browserUpgrade.html which says that it appears that
I'm using an out-of-date browser and tries to direct me to download an
updated version (for the desktop, not the PPC).

The result is that I'm forced to use Pocket Outlook, which isn't working
well either - it's very slow, taking over a minute to log in.

I've looked around but can't find any upgrades to IE for PPC - any ideas?

Thanks,
Charlie

You can't substitute PIE, it is in ROM. And it complies with IE 4.0.

You can masquerade it to IE 5.5 using Chris de Herrera's Regking for WM2003
from http://www.doctorce.com/regking.htm . It is a freeware.

Sounds like he's having a problem similar to mine. I'm trying to access the
MLS (Realtor) system using my HP5555, but as soon as I try to log in to the
web-based access point, it redirects me to a page saying I need IE 6.0... Of
course, there is no 6.0 for PPC...

Damn thing supports Palms (download a file using a desktop then xfer the
portioned database to the Palm), but not my PPC...

So I'm forced to deal with Excel format for now (which sucks, because it has
all the info EXCEPT the little pictures that go with each listing).

Ok... didn't work for what I needed, but may help you...

I downloaded Tweaks2k2 from www.tucows.com and it has a setting that lets
you mask your PIE as IE6.0... Give it a try and let me know if it works for
what you are doing...
