Hello,
I have a Toshiba e750 PPC with WM 2003, and use it's integrated wireless
adaptor to communcate. I would also like to use something a little stronger
than WEP. I guess my questions are:
1) If there were a NIC driver update (that might include WPA?), does anyone
know what wireless adaptor is actually in the e750?
2) Any 3rd party purveyors of WPA-enabled drivers for WM 2003? I know that
the WM2003 SE is coming out, but Toshiba is really silent about whether or
not it will release SE for the e750.
3) Where might I begin looking into VPN connections for Pocket PCs? My
desktop is XP home, and I don't know if it can make such a connection.
Thanks for your time!

Well, I use WPA-PSK (TKIP) with the native support in my iPAQ 5555 (running the Windows Mobile 2003
OS) and a Buffalo WBR-G54 access point/router on my home LAN. Unless Toshiba releases
driver/firmware/ROM updates to support this you may be out of luck. Beyond that Funk has a WPA
client that you could possibly use. It costs $$$$ however. Note that I have not used this so I can't
speak to how well it works or not...

As far a VPN is concerned, look at this small page for help with that...

WEP is fine, its peoples perception that is paranoid.
If you think that you are important enough for someone to crack your key
then depending on the amount of traffic you push, change or rotate your
key ever 3 - 7 days for example - enough to prevent sufficient
collection for cracking.
By far the cheapest method and secure.
