for draging information from one field ie first name to midle name, at the
minute i have to press on one field to select the item, then press and hold
and select copy, then press and hold and select cut, then press on the field
i want the text moving to, then press and hold and select paste!

think your frustration may come from only using the tap/hold controls
coupla suggestions
Suggest doing these types of edits in outlook on the pc after you
sync... in the case of your example, is it because a large number of
contacts had these names switched?
There are other cut/paste options that are significantly faster... in
addition to the app's menu options such as edit/cut, using the keyboard,
you can use <ctrl-X> and <ctrl-V>
Your's is the first post in three years that I have seen feeling that
this is a significant need for the platform to support dragging
functionality... the platform is limited and for situations where a
large number of similar operations need to be done, most of us have
found that it is much easier to sync, make the changes on the pc, then
sync again.
From a completely different perspective, I can also envision where
someone using "drag" operations extensively would also experience screen
degradation much earlier than normal as well.

yeah i kinda agree, i do do most of my editing on the pc and then sync, but
i was wondering if this added functionality is planed any time in the
future...but obviously not! but as pdas bcome more sophisticated i imagine
it will appear. It is in outlook calender so it would make sence to
gradualy implement it throughout the other aps. yes you are right, i am
having to currently go through my contacts list to move certain info to more
sensible areas because as time went by, any new entrys to my pc outlook
contacts list, was not that important to get all the info needed into the
corect boxes...but now i have a pda-it is esential..hence the need to move
data from field to field. it only needs to be done once i suppose, but it
will take me a couple of days without d&d. thanks for your respose
though...i trust you will keep this post in mind when suggesting inprovments
to the programing team.
thanks

<LOL> ...because of years of trying to do just that with a raft of other
critical PPC needs...
Some will probably eventually get done, but I'm currently assuming that
I won't be able to hit the screen with a stylus when it finally
happens... assuming that I can remember how to turn it on if I'm able to
find it!

used them... and had so much trouble getting started that I began to
post what I had found and helped others here and elsewhere get through
the PPC walls...
...and that pretty much describes all of the Mobile Devices MVP's ...
don't think there is currently a Microsoft employee among them at the
moment, but there was one when I was first awarded.
