Hi,

I created a Word doc on my PPC and successfully transferred it to my PC with
ActiveSync. However, I tried beaming the same file to my laptop and it
appeared as a .psw file that I can't open without getting gibberish. Any
ideas?

Thanks a bunch.

The activesync computer has converters installed that took care of the
problem.

Several options... you can install activesync on the other computer and
use activesync to do the transfer

Installing activesync may install the converters so that word will be
able to open the file...  which pocketpc and what version os is it running?

You can save the file in pocket word as text or rich text and then
transfer that file to the laptop.

Thanks, Beverly, for all the options. Good to know.

I thought that maybe installing ActiveSync would work but then wondered,
well, what about when I want to transfer to another device that doesn't have
it.

Finally, your last suggestion dawned on me - that I could perhaps save the
file on the PPC in another format rather than the .psw.  And, that is what I
did and it worked great! I actually had the choice to save it in Word on the
PPC.

Thanks! Donna
