Hello....   I have a problem with Bluetooth and an IPAQ rx3715 (Media
Companion)
Up til last night was working perfectly.

All of a sudden.. Bluetooth locked up, and I had just a single red dot on
screen.
I did a soft reset, and everything came back up.

However.......  when using bluetooth now.. everything is R E A L s l o w.
ie. If I go to access a network resource, instead of popping up in seconds..
it takes many minutes.
If I use VNC.. instead of seeing the host screen in 5 seconds, it takes a
few minutes.
If I web browse, the page takes minutes to appear.

It would seem that it's only transferring mere bytes per second.

I also have 2 IPAQ 2210's, and and IPAQ 5450, and they all work perfect to
the same USB dongle I use with my PC.

So, I am pretty certain the problem lies with the IPAQ rx3710.
I tried a hard reset, tried reflashing the BIOS...  all to no avail...
Bluetooth still goes   r e a l    s l o w.

Apart from the slow Bluetooth.. everything else seems to work fine...
'Bizzare!'

Any ideas people??     This is really weird,  and I have never seen an IPAQ
do this before.

Have you tried to soft-reset? It should be enough to make the problem
vanish.

Yes.. sofware.. hardware......Rom update.. the works.
I'm quite a longtime IPAQ user, so am familiar with all this stuff etc.

I tried the WiFi on the RX3715, and it goes perfect...... so I am now
convinced that the blue tooth circuitry in my new IPAQ has become defective.
(tho for a couple of weeks it went great guns)

All the Bluetooth functions actually work, but all functions run at an
'extremely 'slow pace.
(ie,  ridiculous and abnormal pace)

A week ago.. the rx3715 bluetooth worked flawlessly.. then all of a sudden
it just failed, and now does this 'slomo' behavior.

I am goiing to make a warranty claim, and get a new unit.. as it's only a
few weeks old.

It really might be that you have a technical problem in the device. I have
been installing some 10-15 3715 devices and have not seen this problem on
them. It would be a good idea to take it to an HP lab to be checked.
