Having a frustrating time getting onto the internet on my new hx4700, since when my wife takes down WEP on our wireless network I can access the internet, but as soon as she puts WEP back up, my hx4700 cannot get on the internet. However my desktop (running XP Home) can access the internet under WEP encryption with no problems (albeit the occassional signal drop off). She has done a stirling job in setting up our wireless network, but she admits it's a black art & something you pick up on by trial & error.
Is there anyone who can help - keen to try lots to get it working,
Thanks,
Shep

Hi
To get your hx4700 working with wep, tap the wireless icon, then the wi-fi
icon, then settings. you should now be on a screen that says "configure
wireless network". tap on the name of the network you want to connect to
( it should be listed under "Add new".Now you should be on a screen with 3
tabs. Click on the tab "Network key", now enter the network key in the box.
The key is noa always easy to find, and some systems (as mine does) uses a
phrase, to generate an encryption key. You will need to find this key, even
if you have to search your registry for Belkin (The name of my network),
then you will find a registry key that holds the encryption key. Copy this
key and enter it in your 4700 and all will be ok.
