Folks,
Ida, my beloved 5550, no longer knows when she is in a hot spot. It worked
just fine for a really long time, but know more. So what has changed? If I
knew for sure, I wouldn't be asking for help, but I don't so I am.
When I clicked on the button to turn on WiFi, the little amber light does
not blink. This is the light that says "I am looking for a network."
When I go to Settings...connections...connections, there is no wireless tab.
This seems wrong.
I recently decided to make sure I had all the latest software from
Microsoft, and to best of my recollection, Wi-Fi stopped right around that
time. This may be a red herring.
Any ideas? One thought, of course, is to buy a new PocketPC, but I am hoping
for something less drastic.
TIA

You might try...
1. The good old...
* Power off the iPAQ
* Remove the battery for 5-10 seconds
* Reinstall the battery
* Power on the iPAQ and see if you can connect...
...trick...
2. If that does not work you could do a hard reset. Hopefully you have a recent backup, made before
your troubles began, to restore from..
3. Or simply do a hard reset and rebuild from scratch...
