Odyssey Client vs. Dell Wlan Utility

As far as I can tell I have been using the Dell Wlan Utility to connect to
my wireless network and everything works fine. Are there any advantages or
differences if I were to use the Odyssey Client?

I think you need the Odyssey client for WPA encryption.
