I have an IPAQ hx2410.
Does anyone know if there is any way to automatically switch on the
WIFI connection at a scheduled time, including powering up the unit?
What I would like to do is set the unit to switch on at night, open
the WIFI connection to my router (and therefore the Internet),
download/update various pages through e.g., AvantGO, OmegaOne
JournalBar, and then switch everything off.
From my searching there does seem any way of doing this automatically,
which is surprising as I would have thought it was a common request.

while cradled, using stoptime or an appointment with a reminder you can
schedule your device to turn on @ whatever hr. in power settings you can
specify how long the device remains on even when connected to external power.
Leave the wifi on when you cradle the device. my hp 4150 anyway, can be set
to auto-connect to an available network. All that's left imay be to find
a sync program that can be scheduled. My inkspot newsreader can, I think,
but I don't know about avantgo.
good luck.
