I created/have a wired network with my main win xp pc wired from my router
and a second wire from the router that I plug my laptops into (pc and iMac
laptops).

I recently was given a cisco airnet 350 wireless access point and a cisco
air-pwrinj single port ethernet power injector. The single port injector has
connections labeled "to network" and on the other end "to ap/ bridge"

I want to keep my main pc wired and then have wireless connections for my
win xp laptop and my iBook G4 iMac laptop. These laptops do now and must also
connect to my wireless network at work.

How are each of these pieces connected? Is my "main" "wired" pc considered
the base station or would I choose one of my laptops to be the base station?

How are the wires connected from my existing router to my single port
ethernet power injector and to my ethernet access point?

Your main pc would connect to you switch as it normally does. The network
end of the power injector connects to you switch and the AP side connects to
your access point. Since you are using a power injector do not apply power
directly to the AP.

That's what I did but it doesn't connect. The lights go on, green so I think
it;s connected properly with the proper wires but doesn't identify. Maybe I
have the ssid's wrong? is there a client and a host for wireless networking?

Have you already programmed the AP? You may need to get the AP utility from
cisco which will allow you to set the IP address of the AP. If you already
know the IP of the AP then you just need to setup the SSID and Encryption.
Also if you have the AP set to not broadcast your SSID(this is not security
BTW) then you may want to enable SSID broadcast until you get everything
connected.

No I haven't already programmd the AP - I have tried, using the "IPSU"
utility I downloaded from Cisco, i keep getting an error message when I try
to get/reset the IP address using the Mac address the utility asks for. The
same utility program is to set parameters but it needs the IP address.

I actually have 2 of these - one gives no response, the other shows as
"tsunami". But I can't connect-interact in any way with either of them.

Is ANY setup or activity or configuring of any type done from my main, wired
PC? or is EVERYTHING to be set up from my laptop?

I'm about ready to give up - there has to be some silly little thing I'm
overlooking and I can't find anything that gives each step from beginning to
end - I have tons of info on diff't steps howeverm including about 5 programs
and 10-12 pdf docs from Cisco. Can someone walk me through each step
including which machine I do each step from?

I'm happily, mysteriously connected wirelessly now - Downloaded my 12th pdf
file and application file from cisco, tired to run it, got an error message
saying "no client adapter installed" and then, it connected! No idea how or
why - Now, can I rename the SSID? I still can't find the IP address - also,
how can I get the 2nd AP I have to work?

It sounds like the AP is using the default settings so you need to somehow
find the IP of the AP and then you can administer it through Internet
Explorer, or if you want you can use telnet or ssh. If you haven't set the
IP of the AP check the dhcp server on your network and there should be a
list of address leases. Find the one for you AP (it should stick out) and
then you can administer it changing the IP and whatever else you want.
