Laptop says I'm connected but i can't get internet

Hi,
My daughter's computer has been picking up my wireless router signal for
years but yeaterday she had problems connecting. Her laptop runs XP- my main
comptuer runs Vista.
I have a Linksys wireless router (WRT54G)
The laptop says it is connected but when i open the browser -nothing. I
tried changing the key and the same thing.
Strangly enough at my parents house this week my brother tried to connect to
their wireless router(also a Linksys)-after entering the key his laptop said
he was connected but he also could not get on the internet.

Problem solved. The latest Microsoft update killed the Zone Alarm program on
my daughters laptop. Below is a link to the Zone Alarm website with more
details.

I simply uninstalled Zone Alert and restarted. The problem was fixed.
