Yea, some time ago, before most PPCs started including WiFi. The trick was
getting the drivers. There were a number of CF WiFi cards that did include
WinCE/WinMobile drivers but sometimes they didn't even come with the card,
you had to go to the card manufacturers web site. Do you know your card has
drivers for your version of the OS? Loaded it?
Typically if you stick in a CF card the device doesn't recognize it will ask
for the drivers. After the drivers are loaded, typically you will get
another function in the control panel, an/or another app to help in
configuring the card. Socket and Symbol were two manufacturers that made CF
WiFi cards for PPCs as I recall.

Thank you kindly Sven.
Here's the WiFi card I'm considering for my HP iPAQ 2200 - running Windows
Pocket PC Version 4.20.0 (Build 14035)

If the above link doesn't work, it's item number 170314226379 on
www.ebay.com
I've no idea whether this CF card includes drivers or not, or whether they
are still available from HP or Verizon, but I'll go looking.
Thanks again kindly for your help!

Hpcfactor.com has allot of information on compact flash card installation and drivers.
They are focused on older handhelds I think but you might still get what you need there.
