The 128K Express Network is now included with all new
Verizon contracts. With some foot work it can be added to all old
plans for no charge. Basic setup for the MOT T720 phone:

This CF/cable is $99 but can be used with an CF adapter($16) on any
notebook.
http://www.socketcom.com/product/DP3068-315.asp

You must call and have the service turned on(for old plans only) even
though there's no monthly fee.
The service is not over 100% of the country yet. Check Verizons
coverage map, although it could be out of date. Example- map does not
show Colorado coverage, but people all over the state are connecting.
Dial #777, "yourphone#"@vzw3g.com, password- vzw.
The setup is really about the same as the QNC. Same number to dial
(#777)
through Windows dial up networking (DUN). The only change
for the T720 is the init string and username and password. Might work
with other MOT phones, you just have to try it.

For old 14.4K QNC:
AT$QCMDR=2;AT$QCQNC=1

For new 128K Express Network:
AT$QCMDR=3;AT$QCQNC=0

Username: [your 10-digit number]@vzw3g.com
password: vzw  [lower case]

BTW, power users want to sign up for the monthly fee subscription
which also charges per bytes downloaded. Reason is you can download a
page and spend 15 minutes connected for just a few pennies. If you're
on a minute plan you must pay for - 15min. x 20 cents or so depending
on your plan = $3. That is unless you connect, disconnect, reconnect,
which gets old. I believe all you can eat is now $79 per month.
