There are a number of inexpensive (less than $20) FM modulators that you
can plug into your PPC, then tune your car radio to a blank spot on the
dial and then tune the modulator to fill that frequency.

If you are going to be doing a lot of listening in the car, might
consider looking at a replacement radio with an audio input on the
faceplate... did this about five years ago and will never have another
car without one.

With respect to the gps, the radio is not a good interface as you
generally want to be listening to other content and there is no easy way
to have the gps voice merged with your tunes... imho, amplified speakers
on the dash work better for gps commands.

anyone know if theres an api for the pocket pc 2002 operating system that
lets me disable audio channels from differnt applications if another
application starts using one? i don't mind running a little program that
mutes my my programs back and fourth.

I do this all the time with my Palm Zire 72.  You need a stereo with a line
out jack and then thus the cable which can be found at Radio Shack.

You don't, onless you have a BMW 745 that has a dock for a ipod! LOL  but
as Beverly mention at the begining, IMHO the Fm Modulator is so far the
best connection.

????? Lots of stock car stereos have auxiliary inputs, especially these
days when hands free kits are so common. Most are not on the front
panel, but many many do have them. My Peugeot has two.

My wife's 95 Gallant's OEM radio has an aux in jack.  Many cars and
radio's have them, but, I wager the the majority of them are owned by
drivers who have never noticed that it was available ;-)

Take a look at this.

I got one for my 2004 Civic.
I had to snap apart the console, with information available on the Web.
Slide the adapter into the CD changer port on the stock radio. These were
Alpines with a CD changer port even if you do not have the installed CD
changer.

sounds very cool.  i have seen these for ipods that control volume, music
track and power. is there anything like that for a pocket pc? i.e. make it
act like my cars cd changer?
