Is there any way to change the default color scheme on a PPC 2003 with
Windows Mobile 2nd Ed.
I'm talking about the main window of an application (typically black text
on white), not the Themes based Title bars and pop up windows.. I would like
to tone down the text background on Microsoft Reader so I can read at night
without excessively bright contrast.  The dimmest setting possible before no
backlighting is still too bright for comfortable reading for any length of
time.
I've found some registry values for color, but none that I can translate to
a color pallet that makes any sense..

Jason,

I do a LOT of reading on my Windows Mobile unit but I really do not
bother with MS Reader at all.  There are a bunch of other options that
are so much better.  They won't read lit format though, so you have to
find ebooks that are not lit.

One of my favourites is uBook from GowerPoint.com.  There is a free
version and you can change a TON of different things.  There are a few
"skins" that will save your settings.  I have one skin for regular
reading and another for nighttime reading.  For nighttime I use a black
background and a slightly greyed text.  Works great!  It will read pdb,
txt, html and rtf formats.

There is also Mobipocket which has a free version and you can change the
colours as well.

Both of these open up very quickly, right to the page you left off on.
No need to open, wait, open library, select book, goto furthest page
read.  ;)
