Syncing information

I am new to mobile devices, so please bear with me. I have just made a
database to track my purchases. I set up most of it in the Desktop program.
Now I am going around the house, adding the serial numbers, model numbers,
etc. from my different items. My ActiveSync options are set so that if there
is a conflict "always replace the item on my device." I will probably lose
all the info I just put in on the device. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Will I have to change that setting back and forth depending on where the
newest info is? I was hoping it would just sync-meaning both are the same.
Thanks

the main suggestion is to change your activesync setting to ask you to
resolve a conflict.  When you do so, you will be give a set of three
choices... replace on pc, replace on device or do nothing... nothing
will happen to either file until you make a choice.

So if I change something on the device I should change the setting to
replace on pc, then if I work on the pc, I would need to change again to
replace on device?
