I am having a problem with a PDA2K device where if I phone it from a
landline i can hear it ringing for 5/6 times on the receiver - then the
phone/pda rings once and if I dont answer within a second or two it
goes to voice mail...

why is this?

Thanks
Rob

Rob,

I'd discuss this with your carrier.  It sounds like the issue is your
carrier not being able to route the call to the device for some reason
(probably SIM related but could be something else).

Ask the carrier to increase the "ring count before voice mail."

In addition, check your phone options and see if it is set to
"increasing ring" which may be inaudible on the first ring or two,
especially in a pocket or pouch.

No we literally phone it from a landline right next to it and nothing
happens for a while.  It is definately not carrier realted and phone
related, happening to about 100 out of 200 devices
