Billy,
If I understand your post correctly, you should be able to do what you want
to do with Inbox on your Pocket PC.
You will need to create the POP3 account on your device as you would on your
PC. The key though would be to make sure you set up the account to leave
the email on the server (there is a check box for it somewhere in the
process). This will allow you to check your email and respond to it but
won't actually remove it from the server. That way you will have it when
you get back to the desktop as well. When you do a sync, all of the data
from the POP3 account will be brought down to your device as well assuming
you have Inbox sync turned on.
If you need a more robust solution, you could look into WebIS' Mail 2
(http://www.webis.net) as it has a lot more look and feel of Outlook than
Inbox on your Pocket PC.
If I've misunderstood your post, post again and I'll give it another shot.
:-)

a real pain, unless it's hidden in options...i can't find it...if it's
there, please
guide me to where it is. Is there a decent free POP3 mail client with this
feature ? ...thanks

Arrow,
It is possible I'm confusing Inbox with WebIS Mail 2 so I apologize.
In Mail 2 when you are setting up the POP3 you have the ability to turn on
the Advanced features (it is a check box on the last page of the setup
wizard). When that is checked, you get all of the details of the account in
a tabular format. On the last tab is an option to leave the mail on the
server.
Hope this helps,

no problem...thanks for the reply...i just thought i missed it...
but i double checked and the Inbox that comes with the HP
has no option to leave mail on the server...i think that is a very important
option for a pocket pc and wonder why they left that feature out yet
included
other features not as important...argh ...yes, WebIS Mail looks very good
...thanks

Does the WebIS Email product add an Activesync option item that will
allow you to sync your ***POP3*** Pocket Outlook acount with the inbox
in your desktop's Outlook?
If no, then this is not what I want. With the lack of a "push" email
system on my Desktop/PPC that will redirect my ISP e-mail to/from the
Desktop and PPC, I'm seking an alternative solution that will allow me
to syncronize a POP3 account in Pocket Outlook with the Desktop PC
Outlook inbox. As far as I know, syncronization is only possible with
the non-configurable Pocket Outlook account on the PPC. That account
will not download new e-mail wirelessly, therefore when I download
e-mails from my inbox with the non-configurable Pocket Outlook account
during syncronization, my current e-mails will be there in a
static/non-active/non-wireless-accessible inbox.
If I could simply download e-mail with my POP3 Pocket Outlook account
and sync them with my Desktop Outlook the issue would be solved - I
will be reading new e-mail wirelessly when I'm away, then return, sync
this account with the Desktop Outlook inbox......and my e-mail sitting
on my Desktop Outlook would be identical to the POP3 account on my PPC.
Do you know of a solution like this?

Looks like this WebIS Mail v2.11 is doing the trick - it actually sends
a delete request back out to my ISP's mail server and actually deletes
the message from there if thev'e been deleted in the local folders box
in WebIS. It's interesting how it "pushes" that deletion. It's just
like you were in the web sites version of the mail - but not live. I
have yet to test if this is automated, since I've been testing it by
doing a manual send/recieve afte the deletions. I would suspect it will
though, because I had to place a check mark in the settings for it to
do do this deletion on the server and have it set to automatically
connect every 15 minutes and send/receive automatically too.
Now the big test is will it sync with my desktop via Activesync - to
syncronize my local Outlook .PST files inbox with what is currently
existing in my local folders in WebIS mail. I don't think this will
happen, since I see a seperate Activesync folder and local folder list
in WebIS mail. That would be ashame, because this is the issue I would
like to get around that exists within Pocket Outlook.
