I have a Pocket PC phone edition. The data keep being deleted from  my SD
card.
Even I replaced with a new SD card, the data is still deleted.

Any one run in the same problem?

Thanks,
Alan.

Alan,

Sounds like it could be a hardware issue with your device that is causing
the problem, especially since you have had this happen on two different
cards.

You probably should contact the OEM on it to see what they would charge to
take a look at the slot.

Alan, I have an I-mate pocket PC and have a 1gb SD in the slot which had all
info deleted twice. It was fine for a long time , then I started getting
annoying messages asking me to format the disc. All data went. Second time it
was just gone when I went to use it. Have no idea what is happening.

I have had this happen to me twice on my sandisk64mb and my
Kingston512...I started a regular schedule of defragmenting my cards to
see if that helps. Time will tell.

I just used google (http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search) to
look up
card defrag
in this newsgroup and got 64 hits. One person reported a significant
speed increase after defragging. Several said it should have no effect
because cards have no moving parts. One says that cards have a finite
number of write cycles, so defragging is likely to reduce the lifetime
of a card.

Regular backups seem a far more relevant action, unless you're trying
to determine the cause.
